Training: VIVA, the second industrial chair for training and research for valuation of bioactive plant ingredients, is born
Realizing the potential of innovation remaining in the field of the biological activity of plants, and with a long established collaboration with regional companies of the sector and local units of research in human nutrition, SIGMA, the graduate school for chemistry and mechanical engineering, decided to strengthen the training offer in the field of the vegetal-based chemistry, by creating a new chair named VIVA.
Associated with a consortium of regional companies, SIGMA groups on this project regional SMEs such as Greentech, T2T international, 3i Nature and Dômes Pharma as well as the ECREIN team (Human Nutrition Unit – Faculty of pharmacy, University of Auvergne).
The aim is to train engineers able to meet the challenges of the manufacturing and the industrialization of products stemming from the valuation of the vegetable (production of natural active ingredients of alimentary interest, cosmetic or medicinal).
While the training is created in a positive economic environment in this domain, the collaboration with SMEs aims at contributing to the development of this employment-generating sector.
