JCE Biotechnology continues to develop
JCE Biotechnology, manufacturer of isolators, bio-decontamination systems and sterile transfer systems, has designed, marketed, and provided the maintenance for its products in France and abroad, for more than 28 years. Interview with Eric & Claire GOHIER, Chief Executive Officer, and General Manager, respectively.
For nearly 3 years now, JCE Biotechnology has been based in new premises to respond to their development needs. Where are you today in terms of development?
For us, the month of November is the occasion to celebrate 2 anniversaries: our 28 years of activity and our third year in this 2,500m² building.
Here we can respond to a greater number of projects, have access to new markets, particularly in the pharmaceuticals industry, and receive our customers in an environment which corresponds to our activity.
With this new lockdown, have your working habits changed, and what about those of your workforce?
We all have to face up to an unprecedented and troubling situation where we are obliged to rethink the way we work, particularly relative to teleworking for a number of our colleagues.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, JCE Biotechnology has continued its activity and our objective was, and still is, to do everything possible to meet the needs of our hospital clients. For example, our maintenance technicians had to adapt to COVID-19 restrictions on travel in order to make sure cancer services could still work effectively.
Are you working on any new products, what are your projects?
JCE Biotechnology is constantly innovating.
Even though we can’t see the future clearly, we continue to develop new products and are looking at a project to expand out current site to integrate a controlled environment room for the production and control of sterile products.
At the moment the developments undertaken by our R&D department are concentrated on aseptic filling machine isolators for the pharmaceuticals industry. Our first innovative and patented installation was recently installed in Toulouse for filling nanomedicines.
We also continue to export, with new orders from Italy and the Middle East.
We constantly have to be able to respond to the needs of our customers and win new markets, particularly internationally and in the pharmaceuticals sector.
Despite the difficult times we face, JCE Biotechnology continues to move forward and increase our recruitment.
